

Marvin Traub

Marvin Traub (1925 – 2012) served as Chairman of his marketing and consulting firm, Marvin Traub Associates, which he founded in 1992.
Prior to founding Marvin Traub Associates, Mr. Traub was the CEO and President of Bloomingdale’s for twenty-two years.
Mr. Traub is the author of two books “Like No Other Store” and “Like No Other Career”. “Like No Other Store” is a combination autobiography and look at the history of Bloomingdale’s and American retailing. It was first published in 1993 by Random House and has since gone through three printings, two hardbacks and one paperback. “Like No Other Career” chronicles Marvin’s global retail consulting career after serving as a chairman and CEO of Bloomingdale’s and includes Marvin’s account of the future trends in retailing as well as a collection of previously unpublished sketches by fashion designers such as Yves Saint Laurent and Karl Lagerfeld created for Marvin upon his retirement from Bloomingdale’s in 1991. Mr. Traub graduated from Harvard College Magna Cum Laude in 1947 and Harvard Business School with Distinction in 1949. Mr. Traub was the recipient of The Gold Medal of the National Retail Federation in 1991 as well as the Legion d’Honneur and Order of Merit from France and was awarded the Commendatore de la Republic by Italy.
