Phillip is a dynamic media executive working with some of the world’s leading tech companies, building and leading innovative teams across music, digital media, and technology. This includes six years at Spotify, where he was Global Head of Strategy & Operations for the Creator Services division. He then joined former Lady Gaga manager, Troy Carter, as the COO of music-tech startup Q&A Media, and served as the Chief Revenue Officer of Splay, a digital strategy and eCommerce platform for brands like Supreme, Dior and KAWS.

Most recently, Phillip served as President and COO of HYPERREAL, which builds photorealistic digital humans for celebrity talent.

Mortimer Singer is a Managing Partner of TRAUB Capital and of TRAUB.

Mortimer is currently a Board Director of Signature Brands and Chairman of OrchardMile.com.

Mortimer serves as Vice Chairman on the Board of Trustees of Parsons School of Design. Previously he was vice-chair of French Institute Alliance Française (fi:af) and a co-founder of Pin Down Bladder Cancer, a charity whose mission was to create awareness and raise funds for the Memorial Sloan Kettering Bladder Cancer Research Fund and the MD Anderson Cancer Center.

In 2009 Mortimer co-authored To India With Love: From New York To Mumbai, Assouline Publishing, in support of the Taj Public Service Welfare Trust, a charity benefiting the victims and families of the 2008 Mumbai attacks.

Mortimer started his career at JPMorgan in their TMT investment banking division and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Pennsylvania. He resides in New York City with his wife and two daughters.

Geoffrey D. Lurie is Managing Partner of TRAUB and TRAUB Capital.  He joined Traub in May 2011. At Traub, Geoff focuses on operational optimization and in some cases providing interim management to companies experiencing significant growth as well as companies that are underperforming. Geoff’s expertise includes a variety of services ranging from developing and implementing growth strategies, organizational and operating effectiveness and in some cases turnaround services.  Geoff was also the founding partner of a consulting company which was acquired by a mid-market financial services firm.

Previously Geoff served as CEO of The North Face, a leading industry company in the outdoor apparel market, and CEO/COO of numerous companies in the retailing, apparel manufacturing and distribution, toy distribution and publishing industries.

In addition to these executive management positions, Geoff was a national partner in the Management Consulting Group of Touche Ross & Co. As founder and managing partner of GDL Management Services, he was engaged by Boards, Senior Executives, and Investors in approximately 300 companies over 35 years.  Geoff currently services as a Board Director of Signature Brands.

Geoff received a Degree in Accounting from the University of South Africa and is a Chartered Accountant.

Kate is an Operating Partner at Traub, focused on Commercial Communications. She works with the team on all aspects of brand strategy and optimization across domestic and global markets.

Kate is a dynamic business leader, brand strategist and trusted advisor, relentlessly driving organizational transformation and delivering impactful results. As Principal of Kate Doerge Consulting, Kate champions innovation, winning cultures, and optimizes brand performance to generate value for stakeholders. She is highly regarded for launching, building and revitalizing consumer lifestyle brands for prestige clients including L’Oréal, H&M, Kate Spade, Tag Heuer, Oscar de la Renta, and Elie Saab.

Previously, Kate was Senior Vice President, Head of Marketing at iStar, New York, leading iStar’s branding and communications efforts. She launched the firm’s first marketing department to drive awareness, scale the business, increase deal flow and boost the stock price. Kate helped iStar play a central role in the revitalization of Asbury Park, NJ., leading the creation of the “Asbury Park Now” brand campaign, in conjunction with the opening of the Asbury Ocean Club, the first 5-Star residence & hotel which created record-breaking sales, including the first ever $6 million penthouse condominium sold in Asbury Park. Additionally, she launched the firm’s inaugural ESG report, contributing to increased ratings, and was a member of the ESG Advisory Council. Kate also launched the branding/marketing efforts for Safehold, the ground lease REIT managed by iStar.

Before that, Kate was a Partner at Paul Wilmot Communications, a premier consumer and lifestyle public relations firm. During her tenure, she led the firm’s Fashion, Beauty & Wellness, Accessories, Culture & Lifestyle divisions, launching and growing a range of luxury and lifestyle brands.

In 2015, after 6 years as a Board member, Kate was appointed Co-Chair of the Board of Advisors of the Hospital for Special Surgery, the country’s top ranked hospital for orthopedics and rheumatology. She sits on the Board of Trustees and the HSS Pediatric Council. For the past 16 years, Kate has Co-Chaired HSS’s largest and most successful fundraiser for the Pediatric Pavilion, raising more than $25 million to date.

Kate sits on the Board and acts as a strategic advisor for the Penny Doerge Adaptive Academy (PDAA) at Hospital for Special Surgery, raising ~$1 million for the Academy in 2023. She is also Co-Founder and CEO of Penny’s Flight Foundation, a non-profit organization, dedicated to raising awareness and funding for Neurofibromatosis (NF), launched in honor of Kate and her husband Chad’s daughter Penny who passed away from this condition in November, 2022. The foundation has launched and funded scientific research projects, reached over 20 million people, and has raised over $3.2 million dollars to date.

Additional philanthropic interests include Board member of the Glen Cove Girls and Boys Club, and Greenvale School.

Kate graduated with Honors from Hamilton College in both Communications and Art History. She lives in Glen Cove, NY with her husband, Chad and two children, Henry and Frankie.

Michael Boord joined the firm in 2015 and is a Senior Associate at TRAUB. Michael’s role at TRAUB consists of supporting the business development and project execution effort across all TRAUB partners as well as TRAUB Capital, Celebrity and Consumer business groups.


Prior to joining TRAUB, Michael worked as an Analyst in the Industrials investment banking group at Barclays where he advised industrials clients and financial sponsors on a variety of transactions including mergers and acquisitions, as well as debt and equity financings.


Michael graduated from the Goizueta Business School at Emory University with a B.S. in Business Administration with concentrations on Finance and Accounting.


When he’s not in the office, Michael enjoys perfecting his renditions of Biggy’s greatest hits, playing basketball and taking the SATs – all in his three-piece custom suit.

Amy is the Vice President of Operations and has 30+ plus years experience managing multiple departments, staff and projects. Amy has developed and maintained trusted relationships with key clients, partners and stakeholders and has been instrumental in supporting Traub’s short and long term objectives in tandem with leadership.

Burton Tansky currently serves as an Operating Partner of TRAUB. Mr. Tansky joined the firm in 2011 bringing his expertise in luxury retailing. Previously, Mr. Tansky was Chairman, President and CEO of the Neiman Marcus Group. Prior to this role, Mr. Tansky held various positions within the company including CEO of Bergdorf Goodman and CEO of Neiman Marcus stores. Prior to this, Mr. Tansky was President and COO of Saks Fifth Avenue.

Mr. Tansky graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 1961, and currently serves as a Trustee. He was the recipient of the Superstar Award from Fashion Group International in 2006, the 2004 Gold Medal Award from the National Retail Federation, and in 2002 appointed as a “Chevalier de la Legion d’Honneur” by the French government for his promotion of French-made merchandise in America. Mr. Tansky has also been honored for his work with the National Alliance for Autism Research.

Mr. Tansky serves as a Board Member of Eliot Pliner Shoes, Phoenix House, National Jewish Health and Children’s Hearing. He currently serves as non-executive chairman of Neiman Marcus Group.

As Burt is such a big celebrity at Bergdorf Goodman, we had to move the TRAUB office four avenues over.

With 20+ years of brand strategy and cross-border experience, James has been growing brands and resolving challenges in the luxury, fashion and retail space.

Currently as CEO of Lalique North America, he works with the owner and executive team in France to transform experiences for tomorrow’s world with more engaging retail and marketing activations, including the first US Lalique Bar at Daniel restaurant in NYC.

Previously as CEO and co-owner of L’Objet, James helped the team elevate brand awareness by introducing new categories and expanding footprint to over 60 countries. Throughout his career James advised reputable brands including Giorgio Armani, Lela Rose, Narciso Rodriguez, as well as Ritz Paris Hotel, Aspen Ski Company and others through Traub.

As the first hire of a luxury accessories e-comm site for Bulgari, Dolce & Gabbana, Valentino, Yves Saint Laurent, etc during the first wave of dot-coms, he helped raise ~$50M to grow operations across 5 countries, then led negotiations to sell to an LVMH company.

James started his career at Citigroup in Toronto, London and New York, and serves on several boards both corporate and non-profit. He regularly speaks on industry panels and leads volunteer initiatives for professionals and youth leadership.

James is from Canada but he now lives in Texas heat with his wife and three kids.

Glenn McMahon joins TRAUB with nearly three decades of experience leading global luxury brands. Glenn is a consummate merchant with hands on experience in design, product development, merchandising and marketing.

Formerly as CEO of St. John Knits, Glenn has expertise in the contemporary and luxury sectors across women’s and men’s apparel and non-apparel categories. Previous experiences include senior management roles at Dolce Gabbana, Giorgio Armani, Donna Karan and others.

Glenn has managed vertical brands, licensees, start-ups, digitally native brands, repositioned legacy brands, and mentored emerging talent. At TRAUB, Glenn focuses on brand development for data rich, customer-centric companies across all channels. He has a vast global network of creative talent, merchandising, and sourcing.
